The United States of Occupation

The US practically pushed the Libyan air strikes down the UN's throat. And the UN of course, being a branch of the US' colonial power, agreed. After all, their headquarters are in New York.

It seems that America is so addicted to war and foreign occupation, that even a major economic crisis is not enough to wean them off of it. Hard-liner neo-con Bill Kristol calls for American ground troops in Libya for "peacekeeping" (yeah right). Others are crying foul and even calling for Obama's impeachment! Vladimir Putin calls it a crusade and China is going around gathering allies holding the views that "gangster Obama who should be stripped of his nobel prize".

But just who is going to listen to these voices? Probably no one. Democracy exists only when it serves the rulers' purpose. The calls for impeachment will go unheard, Libya will continue to be bombed, maybe Obama will win the next election. In any case, he will most definitely get a Secret Service detail to protect him when he's out of the White House. Don't believe me? Look what happened to Bush.
